Ok, my brother, Steve , and one of his daughters, Cassidy, finally came to visit me here in Halifax. We took a weekend day for a trip to Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia. Huge waves crashing against the rocks. Fishing boats. Quaint little Nova Scotia town!

What a great day. Fun. And why not Videoblog it???

By the way, they loved Nova Scotia!

Local food; it just makes sense!

Local food it just makes sense

This 26 minute film was great fun. It was a university class project that I volunteered my time for my friend Josee. Then I got really into it.

Did you know an average meal travels 1700 miles to get to you? Undoing the absurd. That is what is discussed here. Why do people not buy food from farmers markets or local produce stands, whatever. Why not support local farming?

When we run out of oil and there is a global economic collapse local farming is going to be in! Very in, as like the only choice to stay alive. Start thinking about it! Enjoy this short film.

Site got a major face lift.

By Mike Smith

Well thanks to the help of Bernardine Wood my site now looks sOoo much better .
But this means on a Saturday night I find myself drinking a beer or two (maybe we will get to three) and transfering files from the old site to the new. I'm going to keep things very simple this time.

Who cares about the site and what kind of beer and I'm drinking you ask?
Boddingtons Pub Ale. You know the kind with the shakey thing it that makes the can of beer pour like a draft, nice.

Bought some stuff

Ok, I should be able to finally post some more video soon.
Bought a 120 gig hard drive, an external enclosure, and an external dvd burner today.
I was waiting to find a good deal and it all came together today. What a relief.

I guess every blogger has to have one so here is mine. If you want to get into film editing it helps to have the correct equipment, eh?

I have been struggling to free up enough hard drive space on my laptop to edit a recent project I volunteered my time to. (A 25 minute movie on why the local university Dalhousie is not buying their produce locally). We are doing our best to get get locals to buy from local farmers. It just makes sense! I'll post a link to the movie after it is posted.

It rained all day and yesterday for that matter. Nice, I liked it at least. I love Nova Scotia.
